LAYOUT COMPARE

Single-line vs 3D lyrics overlays.

These layouts solve opposite problems. Single-line protects a small safe area. 3D needs space and Trial or Pro rotation to look like a stage. If both constraints exist, single-line is the practical choice.

single line vs 3D lyrics overlay

Tight space versus a perspective stage

player-single is a compact current-line player. lyrics-3d is a perspective stage. They are two of three shipped layouts, not a catalog of themes.

Phone-first LIVE scenes often leave only a strip beside the performer. A 3D stage in that strip collides with comments, gifts, and platform controls.

Side-by-side

Equal prices are not involved; choose by scene space and plan. Free flattens rotateY, so a Free 3D request is still not a rotating stage.

If the leftover zone is a lower third, player-single wins even on Trial or Pro. 3D needs a dedicated region.

When both constraints exist, pick single-line

Scarce space plus a Free plan is a double no for lyrics-3d. Flattened 3D still occupies more room than a single line.

Upgrade the plan and clear a stage region before switching. Do not promise rotation from a screenshot of the 3D control.

Test each orientation as its own source

A 1920×1080 lower third and a 1080×1920 phone scene rarely share the same layout choice.

Preview at viewer size. If comments cover the stage, the 3D experiment failed even if the plan can rotate.

Step-by-step setup

  1. 01
Mark the leftover strip after camera and comments

If that strip is a lower third, start with player-single.

  2. 02
Confirm whether Trial or Pro can show rotation

Free flattens 3D. Do not pick lyrics-3d to “preview” rotation on Free.

  3. 03
Pick player-single when either space or plan blocks a stage

Pick lyrics-3d only when both a stage region and a non-Free plan exist.

  4. 04
Preview on a phone-sized window before going live

If gifts or comments cover the block, switch back to player-single.

Frequently asked questions

Which is better?

Use single-line when space is scarce. Use 3D only when the scene and plan can show rotation.

Does Free 3D still beat a single line?

Usually no. Flattened 3D uses more space without delivering rotation.

Can I reuse one 3D source for landscape and vertical?

No. Use a dedicated Browser Source for each canvas.
