A phone-first 1080×1920 canvas
Set the OBS output and the Browser Source to 1080×1920 with a transparent background. Vertical scenes are read on phones, so the readable font range sits higher than in landscape.
A tall, narrow frame leaves less horizontal room, so favor fewer words per line and a compact block rather than a wide multi-line stack.
| Setting | Vertical recipe | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Source size | 1080×1920 | Matches a phone-first vertical canvas |
| Font size | 36–56px | Readable on a phone without wrapping every line |
| Anchor | bottom-center or middle-center | Keeps lyrics clear of camera and platform UI |
Default to single-line or three compact lines
Start with player-single, or player-multi limited to three compact lines, at 36–56px. A five-line block rarely fits a vertical safe area once the performer and comments are on screen.
On Free, the context clamp already limits multi-line to three compact lines, so the vertical default matches the tier limit rather than promising more.
Avoid comments, gifts, and platform controls
Vertical platforms overlay their own comment stream, gift animations, and control buttons along the edges. Place lyrics in the band that stays clear of that UI, usually just above center or low but above the comment rail.
Preview at phone size. If a line collides with comments, reduce the font or switch to single-line before the collision reaches viewers.
TikTok LIVE is a destination, not the source
StreamLyric reads lyrics from YouTube Music playback in Chrome and renders them into the Overlay. OBS composes the 1080×1920 scene, and you publish that scene to TikTok LIVE or another vertical destination.
There is no TikTok API in this path and no official TikTok lyrics feature. Follow the music, lyric, and platform rights that apply to your account, since StreamLyric does not license the underlying songs.
Step-by-step setup
- 01Set a 1080×1920 canvas
Match the OBS output and the Browser Source to 1080×1920 with a transparent background.
- 02Choose a compact layout
Use player-single or three-line player-multi at 36–56px so the block fits a phone-first frame.
- 03Place clear of platform UI
Anchor above the comment rail and away from gift animations and control buttons.
- 04Preview at phone size
If a line collides with comments, reduce the font or switch to single-line, and keep the Overlay URL hidden.
Frequently asked questions
Does this connect StreamLyric to TikTok?
No. TikTok LIVE is the publishing scenario. StreamLyric only supplies the lyric layer in OBS and never calls a TikTok API.
How many lines fit a vertical scene?
Usually one, or three compact lines. A five-line block rarely survives the safe area once the performer and comments share the frame.
What font size suits 1080×1920?
Start at 36–56px so the text stays readable on a phone without wrapping every line.
