What you need
You need Chrome, the StreamLyric extension, YouTube Music, OBS Studio, and access to TikTok LIVE through your chosen streaming workflow. StreamLyric provides the lyric layer; OBS sends your composed scene to the publishing platform.
TikTok LIVE is the publishing scenario, not a direct StreamLyric integration. Check TikTok's current LIVE access, encoder, and music rights requirements before you stream.
Tune a vertical 9:16 layout
For a 1080 × 1920 scene, keep lyrics in a high-contrast area that does not cover your face, instrument, alerts, or platform UI. Start with a readable font size and one or two lines, then test from a phone-sized preview.
Use a subtle color and animation treatment so the words support the performance instead of becoming the strongest visual element in the frame.
Troubleshoot the live overlay
If lyrics are missing, confirm that the song has synchronized lyrics in YouTube Music and that the Overlay link is the one copied from StreamLyric. If OBS shows an old state, refresh the Browser Source and verify its dimensions.
If timing looks wrong, check playback position and network stability. A song without synchronized lyrics cannot provide word-by-word timing.
Step-by-step setup
- 01Install StreamLyric in Chrome
Open YouTube Music and start a song that has available synchronized lyrics.
- 02Create and customize the Overlay
Open StreamLyric, turn on Overlay, choose the lyric style, and copy the secure Overlay link.
- 03Add the link to OBS
Create a Browser Source, paste the link, enable a transparent background, and use your vertical scene size.
- 04Test before going LIVE
Place the lyrics beside the camera, check legibility on a small preview, and test pause, seek, and song changes.
Frequently asked questions
Does StreamLyric connect directly to TikTok?
No. TikTok LIVE is the publishing destination in this workflow. StreamLyric creates a lyrics Overlay that OBS can display as a Browser Source.
Why are lyrics not synchronized?
Synchronization requires available timed lyrics from the current YouTube Music track. Plain text or unavailable lyrics cannot provide word-by-word timing.
