Use a Browser Source, not a native plugin
StreamLyric reaches OBS through a web page. There is no installer, dock, or Stream Deck plugin in this product. If a third-party app can load a transparent Browser Source, the same URL may work, but OBS is the documented path.
Keeping lyrics in their own source lets you move, hide, or crop the layer without touching cameras, audio, or alerts.
Keep the background transparent
Enable a transparent Browser Source so the lyric layer sits on top of the scene instead of painting a black rectangle. If the source looks empty, check contrast before assuming the URL is dead: light text on a bright camera feed can disappear.
Do not capture the YouTube Music tab as a Window Capture. That path shows chrome, recommendations, and often the Overlay URL.
Match the Browser Source to the canvas
Use 1920×1080 for a typical landscape stream or 1080×1920 for a phone-first scene. The source width and height should equal the canvas so anchors stay where you placed them.
Stretching one Overlay between 16:9 and 9:16 is a different failure mode than a blank source. Build one source per orientation.
Treat the Overlay URL as a credential
Anyone with the full URL can request the current playback state. Each plan allows 1 active link. Do not leave the properties window on stream, and do not paste the key into public screenshots.
If the source is blank after a paste, refresh it once, then confirm you copied the current unrevoked URL rather than an old scene-collection leftover.
Step-by-step setup

Do not use Window Capture of YouTube Music. Add a Browser Source whose only job is the Overlay page.
- 02Paste the private URL with a transparent background
Keep Shutdown source when not visible unchecked during the first test so you can see reconnect behavior.
- 03Set width and height to 1920×1080 or 1080×1920
Match the canvas exactly so player-single, player-multi, and lyrics-3d anchors do not shift.
- 04Crop and place without showing the key
Move the source off cameras and alerts, then close properties so the URL cannot appear on a shared display.
