Why use an OBS Browser Source?

A Browser Source lets OBS display a web-based layer inside a scene. It is a good fit for a lyric overlay because the source can remain separate from your camera, alerts, and other scene elements.

Choose dimensions and styling

Use 1920 × 1080 for a typical landscape stream or 1080 × 1920 for a vertical scene. Match the Browser Source dimensions to the scene so the overlay scales predictably.

Use a transparent background, strong contrast, and enough spacing around the text. Keep the lyric layer away from chat, captions, and other important overlays.

Run a pre-stream checklist

Play a track, confirm the current lyric line changes, and verify that the Browser Source is visible in the scene. Test a second track, pause, seek, and a track without synchronized lyrics.

If the source is blank, refresh it and check the copied Overlay link. Avoid exposing the link publicly if it is intended to be a private overlay credential.
