Music and Lyrics Rights

Installing StreamLyric does not license the song

The extension does not sell, sublicense, or clear mechanical, public-performance, or lyric-display rights. A working Overlay is not evidence that a stream is cleared.

Availability of lyrics in YouTube Music is a catalog fact, not a license grant for live publishing.

Listening is not the same as live publishing

Playing a track in Chrome for yourself is a different activity from sending that picture and audio to an audience.

If you go live, follow the rules of the destination in addition to whatever YouTube Music permits for personal playback.

OBS is only the composer; the destination is the publisher

OBS composites the Browser Source. TikTok LIVE, Twitch, YouTube, or another platform is what actually publishes. StreamLyric does not sit in that publish path.

The product does not grant TikTok LIVE access, send comments or gifts, or speak for that platform’s commercial music rules.

Do not present StreamLyric as official

StreamLyric is an independent Chrome extension. It is not a YouTube Music, OBS, or TikTok product and does not claim an official API partnership.

Keep Overlay URLs private. A leaked key is a credential issue, not a rights clearance.

Step-by-step setup

1. 01
Separate personal playback from the live destination

YouTube Music in Chrome is not automatically permission to publish that session.

2. 02
Read the destination’s current LIVE and commercial music rules

OBS does not replace TikTok LIVE, Twitch, or YouTube policies. StreamLyric cannot open LIVE access.

3. 03
Treat lyric display as its own question

A timed Overlay is still a display of lyrics. Catalog presence is not a blanket lyric license.

4. 04
   Keep StreamLyric described as independent

Do not call it an official YouTube or TikTok integration in overlays, titles, or help pages.
