Try another track before touching Overlay
A live cut, remix, or regional upload may have no lyric record even when the studio track does. Play a song you already know has lyrics. If that song works, the first track is the gap.
Do not revoke Overlay URLs or rebuild OBS sources to debug a missing lyric in the YouTube Music tab. Those are later, Overlay-specific failures.
Return to automatic source selection
Automatic mode tries timed sources first, then readable plain text. A manual pick that has no data for this track stays empty instead of silently hopping to another provider.
Plain text is not a failure. It means words exist without a timeline. StreamLyric still will not invent Karaoke timestamps.
Confirm the extension can run on music.youtube.com
StreamLyric reads the YouTube Music page in Chrome. If the extension is disabled, restricted to another site, or blocked after a Chrome update, the lyric view stays empty even when the catalog has lyrics.
Reload music.youtube.com once, resume playback, and reopen the StreamLyric panel. Repeated reloads rarely fix a permission or network block.
Treat empty as a valid result
External lookup can fail on a flaky network. Retry after the request finishes. If the provider has nothing, the honest UI is empty—not a guessed chorus.
Availability still varies by song, version, region, and provider. StreamLyric does not guarantee lyrics for every catalog entry.

Separate a one-song catalog gap from an extension that cannot see YouTube Music at all.

A stuck manual source will not invent data for the current track.

Confirm StreamLyric is enabled for the YouTube Music tab, then reload that tab once.
- 04Retry the lyric request without rebuilding OBS
If the Chrome view is empty, Overlay cannot display lines either. Fix the page context first.
