How to Refresh an OBS Browser Source for Lyrics

Refresh the Browser Source from its OBS properties or context menu, then confirm the private StreamLyric URL, canvas dimensions, transparency, and current YouTube Music playback. Recreate the source only after a normal refresh fails.

Refresh before rebuilding the source

Use the Browser Source refresh action so OBS reloads the existing page without changing its scene position and size.

Wait for the current connection mode to recover before repeatedly refreshing.

Verify Browser Source properties

Confirm the URL is current, the source width and height match the scene, and no custom CSS is hiding the content.

A transparent Browser Source can look blank when the current lyric color matches the scene. Check contrast as well as connection state.

Recreate only when necessary

If the link was revoked, generate a new one and replace the URL. If the source itself is corrupted, record its dimensions and transform before recreating it.

Do not expose the private key while copying settings or sharing diagnostics.

Step-by-step setup

  1. 01
    Open Browser Source properties

Select the lyric source in OBS and open its properties.

  2. 02
    Refresh the source

Use the available refresh action and wait for the page to reconnect.

  3. 03
    Verify URL and dimensions

Check the private link and match the source to the scene canvas.

  4. 04
    Replace a revoked link

Create a new link only when the old credential is no longer valid.

Frequently asked questions

Will refreshing change my source position?

A normal page refresh should keep the existing OBS source transform. Recreating the source may require positioning it again.

Why is the refreshed source still blank?

Check playback, lyric availability, link validity, dimensions, color contrast, and network access.
